Bio
Caroline Fermin is a New York based performer, educator, and choreographer. She has created dance works for Mt Holyoke, University of South Carolina, Stockton University, and DeSales University, among others. Her collaborative media work has been presented by the Juilliard Center for Innovation in the Arts, Barnard’s dance department, and the composer Jessica Meyer. In theater, she has choreographed for Directors Daniel Talbott on the plays Selkie and Ugly Little Sister, Brian Mertes on the Chekov Project, Alice Reagan for Fefu and Her Friends and David Herskovitz and Target Margin Theater for Show Boat: A River at NYU Skirball. She is currently developing a new piece, Let Me Be An Animal, as part of Target Margin Theater’s Nonsense Lab.
Caroline is lead dance faculty for Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard and participates in the mentoring program at Juilliard. She has been a teaching artist for New York City Center and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, working with K-12 public school students; and served as Director of Culture for Dancewave. Currently, Caroline holds the position of term lecturer at Barnard College/Columbia University and adjunct lecturer at Northeastern University.
She attended The Juilliard School (BFA, Dance) and Wilson College (MFA, Choreography) and is a founding member of Andrea Miller’s Gallim Dance where she toured and performed internationally. After dancing for the company, she became rehearsal director and Education Chair. She has freelanced with a number of artists and continues to perform.
